ICT @ SVC

The Information and Communication Technology department at St Vincent’s College manages the College’s technology systems and provides our students and staff with the most appropriate technology and support.

ICT are constantly researching new technologies and re-appraising existing technologies, to see where they may be useful in helping our students achieve their academic goals and maintaining a high standard of performance.

Students of the College have access to both PC and Apple computers, each loaded with up-to-date, industry standard software that caters for both their practical and creative needs. Some of the software available to students includes the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop for our art students and Sibelius for our musicians.

All students enrolled at the College have their own login and personal data storage area on the network where they can save assignments, documents and other projects they are working on or have completed. This storage area is backed up to ensure no data will be lost should the network go down.

Students are also provided with their own private email account that is accessible from anywhere with an internet connection. All accounts include spam and virus protection.

For our boarders we provide laptop support and wireless access to our network, allowing access to the internet and personal data storage areas at any time.
