The Season Draw:

The Draw is published on this page as an ATTACHMENT. PLUS - The Draw will be advertised on the school sports noticeboard in Garcia Building, plus a reminder given each week at training. Girls MUST COMMUNICATE if they are unavailable one Saturday. Notes/Emails written by parents please. Boarders must be at training to ask team mates parents for transport on a rotational basis.

Venues:

In Terms 2 and 3 IGSA Competition, our teams play against schools such as PLC Pymble, Abbotsleigh, and Kambala to name a few. The Saturday morning games are played at various venues and schools throughout Sydney. Depending on the draw, some teams may have to travel to play Frensham at Mittagong. Game times range from 8am till 11am. Venues are attached below.

Transport:

Saturday transport is not arranged by the College. Boarders are to organise lifts with day girls in their teams and all Boarders must plan ahead and be proactive. Talk to your team/coach at training. Since Boarding students need to be driven to venues and back to school each Saturday, it would make sense to rotate this responsibility with all parents. Please try to help the boarders at least once each term with lifts.

Game Times and Arrival time to venue:

The Draw will not be available until the first week back of Term. From past experience, Seniors often play 8am and 9am; Juniors (YR 8/9) play 9am or 10am and Year 7 play at 10am or 11am. Please allow for Sydney traffic and arrive 30 minutes prior to match time for your warm-up. Please sign on at the convenor table and be in full College sports uniform.

Wet Weather:

Term 2/3 and rain cancellations - Your coach will text, however, best to keep checking the IGSA sports website for basketball venues. An indoor venue is always OK, however, if you are an outdoor venue, you need to constantly check the IGSA website if the Saturday brings heavy rain.

link for venues and closures is: https://igsasport.spawtz.com/

Absenteeism:

If unable to train, a note must be presented to the Sports Coordinator before the session. If the student is injured or unwell but still attending school then they are required to go to the session and watch and learn. Three unexplained missed training sessions, means you may be bumped from the Team and might not be considered for sport the following Term.. To request absenteeism from a match, a note should be submitted to the Head Coach and Sports Coordinator at least 3 days prior to the match, if possible so we can organise a replacement if needed

Equipment and Uniform:

The basketball uniform set includes SVC navy blue shorts, SVC Basketball numbered singlet. In hot weather, wear the correct soft peak cap. Non SVC clothing is not to be worn to sport. Only as a last resort, tape a number on your PE shirt if you haven't yet purchased a basketball singlet.

Uniforms for sport must be purchased from the College uniform shop. The uniform shop is open on Mondays 8.00am to 2.00pm, Wednesdays from 12:00pm to 5pm, and Fridays from 8am to 2:00pm. To make an appointment phone 8324 6622.
