WELCOME TO SVC NETBALL

________________________________________________________________________

Netball is very popular at SVC. We pride ourselves on working hard at training sessions, displaying respect to coaches and therefore committing to all training sessions, thus forming effective teams and relationships with coaches. In competition mode, we display skill, fighting spirit and sportsmanship.

*If your child plays Netball at RNA or another Association, then join SVC Club as long as the commitment is there and priority to share the 'game time with other club' is there. There may be Saturday game time clashes, however with clear communication and planning, we avert dramas.

Directions: Enter from Princes Highway into Holbeach Avenue. Drive through the roundabout, then veer right for 200 metres. Look for an ochre/white warehouse.

For IGSA, the Saturday morning games are played at various venues & schools throughout Sydney. See Venue PDF below for addresses and map links. Please plan for travel as games can be at Wahroonga, Pymble, Mosman, Dee Why, Alexandria and Tempe to name a few.

Boarding Students & Transport:

Saturday transport is not arranged by the College. Boarders are to organise lifts with day girls in their teams and all Boarders must plan ahead and be proactive. Talk to your team/coach at training. Since Boarding students need to be driven to venues and back to school each Saturday, it would be good if this responsibility was shared with all parents. Please try to help the boarders at least once each term with lifts.

Game Times and Arrival time to venue:

From past experience, Seniors usually play 8am and 9am; Juniors (YR 8/9) play 9am, 10am and Year 7 play at 10am or 11am. Please allow for Sydney traffic and arrive 30 minutes prior to match time for your warm-up. Please sign on at the convenor table and be in full College sports uniform.

Absenteeism:

If unable to train, a note must be presented to the Sports Coordinator before the session. If the student is injured or unwell but still attending school then they are required to go to the session and watch and learn. Three unexplained missed training sessions, means you may be bumped from the Team and might not be considered for sport the following Term.. To request absenteeism from a match, a note should be submitted to the Head Coach and Sports Coordinator at least 3 days prior to the match, if possible so we can organise a replacement if needed

Equipment and Uniform:

Students who participate in sport should have the college tracksuit or Sports Jersey and wear them on cold mornings in winter. Non SVC hoodies are NOT to be worn to Saturday sport or training. Long black tights are not permitted at training.

Uniforms for netball are the NAVY SLEEVELESS POLO or NAVY PE POLO and the NAVY SKIRT, - to be purchased from the College uniform shop prior to the first Saturday of Sport. All players must have a netball skirt. The uniform shop is open on Mondays 8.00am to 2.00pm, Wednesdays from 12:00pm to 5pm, and Fridays from 8am to 2:00pm. To make an appointment phone 8324 6622.

Cost for the Term:

The fee for IGSA Netball is approx. $310 for Term 2 and $310 for Term 3 and includes coaches, registration fees, venue hire, game equipment, training equipment and administration. This amount will be billed to student’s school fees account.
