ESTA TOUCH TERM 1 & TERM 4 (Must play for both Terms 4 and 1)

2024 Competition Commencement: Important Dates:

All girls must be available to play the first Saturday of Term and every Saturday during the season. This is only fair, as you are part of a team that supports one another.

Term 1 - The Touch competition commences on for teams in the Jun A/B and Sen A/B Competitions on Saturday, 3rd February 2024.
Term 1 - The Touch competition commences on for all teams Saturday, 10th February 2024

Term 1 - Semi Finals and Play-offs will be held on Saturday, 16th March 2024 and Grand Finals will be Saturday, 23rd March 2024.

Term 4 Competition begins on Saturday, 12 October. Semi Finals are on Saturday, 9 November and Grand Finals on Saturday,16 November 2024.TBC

Venues:

The Eastern Suburbs Touch Association competition matches are held at Centennial Park, Mission Fields on Oxford St from 8am in the morning until 1pm in the afternoon.

The Reservoir Fields (named CP 01 for example), are off Oxford Street, Woollahra/Paddington. Park Oxford St or enter Centennial Park at Paddington Gates and turn left into Carrington Road. Mission Fields (MF) are hidden. Three options: 1. off Parkes Drive, turn west at main duck pond coffee caravan. Walk 300m west through soccer fields. 2. Enter Randwick gates (opp. racecourse), drive left 300m, park, walk across field to a clearing into Mission. 3. Park along Grand Drive, near Sydney Boys High field, walk behind their building for 150m.

Transport:

Saturday transport is not arranged by the College. Boarders are to organise lifts with day girls and must be proactive.

Arrival time to venue:

Arrive 30 minutes prior to match time for your warm-up. Please sign on. Remember drink bottles as weather is usually very warm.

Wet Weather:

Training sessions:

Trainings are held either before school (7:15am-8:15am) after school (3:15pm-4:45pm). Sessions are run by experienced coaches and include warm up activities, fitness, drills, tactics and game play. Training times are listed on the Sports Noticeboard and in Admin notices. Training sessions are held at Rushcutters Bay Park. If unable to train, a note must be presented to the Sports Coordinator before the session. If the student is injured or unwell but still attending school then they are required to go to the session and watch and learn. Three unexplained missed training sessions, means you may be bumped from the Team and might not be considered for sport the following Term.. To request absenteeism from a match, a note should be submitted to the Head Coach and Sports Coordinator at least 3 days prior to the match, if possible so we can organise a replacement if needed.

On wet weather an indoor session may be organised at school in A13 or another room. The students will meet their coaches on the paved area at 3.05pm and walk down to Rushcutters Bay park. The fields are near the Kiosk in Rushcutters Bay, nearest street on New Beach Rd. Training will finish at 4.30pm and then the students can be picked up from the park or will be walked back to the College by a coach.

Year 8/9 - Wednesday Afternoons- 3.15pm - 4.45pm. Starting Week 2 - 7 February

Year 10, 11 and 12 - Monday's Afternoons - 3.15pm - 4.45pm. Starting Week 2 - 5 February

Seniors A/B Squad & Junior A/B Squad- Wednesday Mornings - 7:15am - 8:15am (Starting Week 1 - Wednesday 31st January)

SATURDAY FIELD LOCATIONS:

  • Queens Park Playing Fields, Baronga Avenue end, Queens Park.
  • Centennial Park – (the Reservoir Fields & Missions Fields in Centennial Park.)

Absenteeism:

If unable to train, a note must be presented to the Sports Coordinator. Three missed training sessions, means you will be bumped from the Team. To request absenteeism from a match, a note should be submitted to the Head Coach at least 1 week prior to the match.

Equipment and Uniform:

The uniform is SVC shorts, SVC touch singlet, SVC sport socks. Non-SVC clothing is not to be worn to sport.

Uniforms for sport must be purchased from the College uniform shop prior to the first Saturday of Sport. The uniform shop is open on Mondays 8.00am to 2.00pm, Wednesdays from 12:00pm to 5pm, and Fridays from 8am to 2:00pm. To make an appointment phone 8324 6622

Registering and Team Selection:

For Term Term 4 and Term 1 Teams we ask for registration at the start of Term 3. Registration is an online process and plenty of notice is provided by the sports staff. These registrations are always open from weeks 2-4 of the term before the competition commences.

Trials:

Team trials and grading will be held at Rushcutters Bay on the following dates:

Year 7 (2024)-Monday 29 January 2024, Time: 2:30-3:30pm. Students to be collected from Rushcutters after trials. If student wants to be collected from school they will be walked back to school by 4pm.

Term 4 Trials: TBC

Seniors (Year 10, 11 & 12): Wednesday 18 September: 3:15pm - 4:45pm

Juniors (Year 8 & 9): Monday 16 September: 3:15pm - 4:45pm

Year 7: Tuesday 17 September: 3:15pm - 4:45pm

Extra Trial Date (for students who were absent): Thursday 19th September 3:15-4:45pm

We may enter one team in the IGSA Competition to allow for those students wishing to trial for the IGSA Representative pathway but this will vary each year.

Cost for the Term:

The fee for Touch is approximately $310 for Term 1 and $310 for Term 4 2024, and includes coaches, registration fees, venue hire, equipment and administration. This amount will be billed to student’s school fees account
