TENNIS - TERM 1 and TERM 4 2024 (Must play Terms 4 and 1 2025)

2024 COMPETITION

In Term 4 and 1, our students register for the IGSA season which is renowned for its high level of competition and professionalism. The College will also enter a Tildesley Tennis Team to compete in the Term 1 Tournament, and in Term 4, the team commences training for the following year.

Competition Commencement:

All girls must be available to play the first Saturday of Term and every Saturday during the season. This is only fair, as you are part of a team that supports one another. IGSA Competition commences on Saturday, 10 February 2024 and Finals are on Saturday, 30 March 2024.

Term 4 Tennis Commences onSaturday 12 October.
Round 7 games are played on Saturday, 23 November, No Finals - its first past the post. TBC

Important Dates:

Tildesley Tennis Tournament - Singles -Wednesday March 6 and Doubles - Thursday March 7, 2024 ( Friday March 8 is Backup Day)

Venue: Pennant Hills Park

Our teams play against schools such as PLC Pymble, Abbotsleigh, and Kambala to name a few. The Saturday morning games are played at various venues, fields and schools throughout Sydney. Depending on the draw, some teams may have to travel to play Frensham at Mittagong. Game times range from 8am till 12:30pm.

Transport:

Saturday transport is not arranged by the College. Boarders are to organise lifts with day girls if possible or a small College bus may g.

Arrival time to venue:

Arrive 30 minutes prior to match time for your warm-up. Please sign on. Matches commence at 7:45am and 9:55am at each of the IGSA venues and matches go for approximately 2 hours.

ALL Saturday's Team SESSIONS are ON THE SCHOOL COURTS or at Various schools and Tennis Centres around Sydney.

Tildesley Training commences from Monday 5 February - 3.15pm - 4.15pm for Doubles and Mondays - 7.15am - 8.15am for Singles. Please contact coach Tonya (Mobile: 0411 984 352) if you have any questions.

Absenteeism:

If unable to train, a note must be presented to the Sports Coordinator before the session. If the student is injured or unwell but still attending school then they are required to go to the session and watch and learn. Three unexplained missed training sessions, means you may be bumped from the Team and might not be considered for sport the following Term.. To request absenteeism from a match, a note should be submitted to the Head Coach and Sports Coordinator at least 3 days prior to the match, if possible so we can organise a replacement if needed.

Equipment and Uniform:

Tennis uniform is the College polo shirt and navy blue skirt. Students who participate in sport should have the college tracksuit and wear the correct Hat and correct Socks. Non SVC clothing is not to be worn to sport.

Uniforms for sport must be purchased from the College uniform shop prior to the first Saturday of Sport. The uniform shop is open Wednesday from 12:30pm to 5pm and Friday from 8am to 1:15pm. Registering and Team Selection:

For Term 4 2024 and 1 Sport 2025, we trial the current students in Term 3, 2024. Registration is an online process and plenty of notice is provided by the sports staff. For new students in 2024 we will have to hold trials in the first week back at school in Term 1.

Trials:

Team trials for Term 4 2024/ Term 1 2025 will be held on: Monday September 16 - on the school courts from 3.15pm - 4.30pm for Years 7, 8 and 9 and on Wednesday 18 September: 3:15pm - 4:30pm for Seniors (Year 10, 11 & 12). TBC

Year 7 (2024): Trials will be held at the college Monday 29th Jan from 2:30pm - 3:30pm.

Costs:

The fee for Term 1 IGSA Tennis is approx. $310 and the fee for Term 4 IGSA Tennis is approx. $310 and includes coaches, registration fees, venue hire, equipment and administration.

Tildesley Tennis is approximately $350 to cover training and tournament entry and umpire.

This amount will be billed to student’s school fees account
