Enrolment Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question about St Vincent's College? Our College Registrar has answered some of the most common questions to help guide you through the enrolment process.

Q. How far in advance should I apply for my daughter to attend St Vincent's College?
We encourage families to apply as early as possible. Demand for places, particularly in Year 7, is strong, and submitting an application early provides the best opportunity to be considered for your preferred year of entry.
Applications are welcomed for all year groups, subject to availability. If you are considering St Vincent's College for your daughter, we recommend lodging an application as soon as you begin exploring your schooling options.
If you are unsure about availability or would like to discuss your family's circumstances, our College Registrar would be delighted to assist.

Q. My daughter is on the waitlist. When will I know if she has been offered a place?
Families on our waitlist are generally contacted approximately 18 months before the intended year of entry.
For families with a sibling already attending St Vincent's College, sibling offers are made in Term 4 of Year 4, provided an enrolment application has been submitted. However, all prospective students are required to participate in an interview as part of the enrolment process before a place is formally offered.

Q. Does having a sister at the College or an alumni connection give my daughter priority?
Yes. A family connection with St Vincent's College, including a current sibling or an alumni connection, is taken into consideration during the enrolment process and may provide your daughter with priority for entry.

Q. Is there an entrance exam for students prior to an interview?

No. St Vincent's College is a non-selective school, and there is no entrance examination as part of the enrolment process.
As part of our admissions process, all prospective students and their families participate in an interview. This provides an opportunity for us to get to know each student, understand her interests and aspirations, and ensure that St Vincent's College is the right fit for her educational journey.

If your daughter is commencing in Year 7, she will be invited by the College Registrar to complete Academic Assessment Services (AAS) Student Academic Testing approximately four months before commencing at the College. This online assessment is completed at home.

The AAS assessment is not an entrance exam and does not determine enrolment. Instead, it helps the College make informed decisions about curriculum planning and delivery, identify students who may benefit from additional support or extension opportunities, and establish a baseline for monitoring academic growth throughout their time at St Vincent's College.
These assessments are typically conducted on a Saturday morning.

Q. What are the Terms and Conditions of Entry and Continuing Enrolment at St Vincent's College?
The Terms and Conditions of Entry and Continuing Enrolment outline the mutual expectations and responsibilities of families and the College throughout a student's enrolment.
We encourage all families to read this document carefully before accepting an offer of enrolment, as it includes important information about enrolment obligations, fees, attendance, student wellbeing, and the ongoing partnership between the College and parents. A copy of the Terms and Conditions is available within the Enrolment Portal and forms part of the enrolment documentation.

Q. What fees are associated with the enrolment process?
A non-refundable Application Fee of $350 is payable when you submit your daughter's application. If your daughter is offered a place and you wish to accept, a Confirmation Fee of $2,500 is also required to secure her enrolment.

Q. My daughter is enrolled for a particular year, but I would like to transfer her enrolment to a different year of entry. Is this possible?
Yes, you may request to change your daughter's year of entry. All transfer requests are subject to availability, and places cannot be guaranteed. You will need to log into the St Vincent’s College Enrolment Portal to make any changes.

If you are considering changing your daughter's entry year, we encourage you to contact our College Registrar as soon as possible to discuss your circumstances. We will work with you to explore the available options and advise you of the next steps.

Q. Is Boarding available at the College?
Yes. St Vincent's College offers Full Boarding for students in Years 7 to 12.
Our Boarding community is home to students from across regional and rural New South Wales and is also an ideal option for Sydney families seeking greater flexibility, a structured routine and a supportive home away from home during the school term, while still enjoying the opportunity to spend weekends together at home.

Boarders enjoy exceptional pastoral care, supervised study, outstanding facilities and a vibrant community where lifelong friendships are formed. Every student is supported to thrive academically, socially and personally in a safe and welcoming environment.
To learn more about Boarding or to arrange a tour of our Boarding House, please contact our College Registrar.

Q. What is Xtend@VinniesBoarding, and who can participate?
Xtend@VinniesBoarding is the College's extended day program, available to students from Year 9. It provides a structured, supportive environment beyond the school day, helping students balance their academic, co-curricular and personal commitments.
Students benefit from dedicated supervised study, academic support from teaching staff and the opportunity to enjoy dinner alongside our Boarding community. Xtend@VinniesBoarding is ideal for students with busy co-curricular schedules, long commutes or families seeking greater flexibility during the school week.
By extending the school day in a purposeful way, Xtend@VinniesBoarding enables students to complete homework, access additional support and develop greater independence, organisation and confidence, while enjoying the benefits of a welcoming College community.

Q. I would like my daughter to study at St Vincent's College but do not have permanent residency. What are my options?
St Vincent's College welcomes applications from students who hold Australian permanent residency, Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or an eligible temporary visa.
Please note that St Vincent's College is not a CRICOS-registered school and is therefore unable to enrol students who require a Student Visa (subclass 500).
As part of the enrolment process, families who are not Australian citizens or permanent residents will be asked to provide a copy of their VEVO (Visa Entitlement Verification Online) documentation to confirm their daughter's visa status and eligibility for enrolment.

If you are unsure whether your daughter's visa is eligible, we encourage you to contact our College Registrar, who will be happy to discuss your individual circumstances and guide you through the process.

Q. What should I do if my family circumstances change?
If your family circumstances change after submitting your application, please let our College Registrar know as soon as possible.
This may include changes to your contact details, residential address, visa status, family circumstances, or your preferred year of entry. Keeping your information up to date helps us communicate with you effectively and ensure your enrolment application remains accurate.
If you are unsure whether a change may affect your application, please contact our College Registrar, who will be happy to assist.

Q. What documents are required to enrol at St Vincent's College?

Our Enrolment Portal will guide you through the required documentation for your application. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact our College Registrar, who will be happy to help.
