St Vincent's College is a Catholic Day and Boarding College for Girls in Years 7 to 12. The College was founded by the Sisters of Charity in 1858 and is now under the Stewardship of Mary Aikenhead. It fosters creativity, discernment, and leadership in developing students into courageous women of action.
The Role
The successful applicant will be an innovative Science teacher. They will demonstrate excellence in classroom teaching of students across a range of ability levels and the ability to work co-operatively with a committed and enthusiastic department. They will have a desire to engage in pedagogical innovation and in integrating evidence-informed practices in the classroom. Strong communication skills and a commitment to growth-focused learning for young women are necessary. Experience in teaching Chemistry would be an advantage.
Key position criteria
- Qualifications for and/or experience as a Science Teacher
- Hold the appropriate teaching qualifications and be eligible to teach in NSW
- The capacity and interest to teach courses s across stages 4-6.
- Ability to promote a culture of growth and achievement in the classroom by modelling a genuine passion for learning.
- Willingness to collaborate in a team to advance health and wellbeing for young women.
- Capacity to develop and implement engaging learning experiences catering to the diverse needs of students, including high potential learners.
- Have a commitment to Catholic education, displaying a clear understanding of the ethos of Catholic schools and the particular Mission and Vision of the College
- Intelligent understanding of the connection between emotional and educational growth and willingness to support shared principles and practices in maintaining safe, inclusive and productive learning environments.
- A commitment to promoting a culture of growth and achievement in the classroom.
- Strong communication skills, effective record-keeping, and the ability to manage workflow and demands.
- An ongoing commitment to personal and professional growth.
- A current Working with Children Check, be committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety, welfare, and well-being of young people.
