St Vincent’s College is seeking to appoint a committed, professional and enthusiastic Student Support Assistant to assist the Pastoral and Diverse Learning Teams in the pastoral and academic care of students. The role will also include reception duties, responsible for student attendance and assisting with daily school procedures.
The Role
The Student Support Assistant will support the College Deans and Diverse Learning Teams with the following tasks:
- Administrative support to facilitate efficient operation of the Student Deanery
- Be a calm and reassuring point of contact for students presenting to the Deanery for pastoral support
- Supervision and accompaniment of students (social-emotional regulation)
- Manage parent communications in an appropriate and timely manner
- Liaise with key stakeholders both internal and external to the College; calendar management, scheduling appointments and meetings, producing and distributing correspondence, answering and directing phone calls etc
- Generate reports for student attendance tracking and maintaining student pastoral records whilst maintaining confidentiality and privacy of student information
- Manage data entry and ensure record keeping within the College Student Information System
- Collating documentation to support NESA applications
- Carrying out administrative duties such as typing, scanning and filing
Your Background
The right candidate will:
- Have high quality interpersonal and communication skills with experience or demonstrated aptitude in working with children with social-emotional and diverse learning needs.
- Be able to establish, build and maintain a positive rapport with students, staff and stakeholders
- Provide courteous and professional communication
- Have administration support experience or demonstrated technical skills
- Be highly motivated with a readiness to perform the role with integrity and enthusiasm
